Toronto Art School – Copying the Masters – Pastel Workshop
Copying the Masters is an amazing adventure and in the past it was one of the most celebrated tools of the learning process. With the many colour reproductions available to us today, you can really go wild making miniature copies of Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and many more; a privilege not previously available to the renaissance artisan. At Toronto Art School - Zelski Art you can learn to use how to make use of the mass library of visual information endowed to us from our predecessors. At your disposal are the colour-palettes, anatomical studies, and techniques of tonal variation, from the entire history of art. In the pastel workshop, you will learn how to use pastel drawing, and colour-theory, to create miniature studies of your favorite artists and art pieces. The medium of pastel easily lends itself to the fastest tool for reproduction of the masters because drawing with pure pigment allows you to colour mix and imitate any brushstroke or medium. Toronto Art School - Painting Classes
Learn how to paint in acrylics, oils, and watercolors at Toronto Art School – Painting Classes. This workshop covers light and shadow studies, color theory, layering and glazing. Includes an analysis of composition, as well as color temperature and harmony. You will learn composition rules such as the golden section and how to combine color harmonies to create a layered picture plane from a classical perspective.
