Various casts of ancient sculptures will be used for practice. Drawing from a collection of cast elements. One of the main challenges of drawing a portrait and the human body is that color interferes with an analysis of a black and white value study. Drawing from the cast allows for a black and white study of form, since the cast is white it is a perfect example of how light forms itself on the human figure. Toronto Art School students thus learn how the human body really captures light and core and cast shadows. This series allows students to work with value in the all types of media.
